Massachusetts
Leads Nation in Accreditation
- As
of February 2001, Massachusetts has the highest percentage (31.6%)
of regulated centers accredited by the National Association for
the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in the country. Nationwide,
only 10.4% of centers are NAEYC accredited.
- The
percentages of NAEYC accredited centers in other New England states
are: 1.9% in Maine, 19.5% in Connecticut, 5.3% in New Hampshire;
9.1% in Vermont, and 13.5% in Rhode Island.
