Early
Childhood Teachers Willing to Work to Fight Abuse and Neglect
A recent
NAEYC national survey found that 97% of early childhood educators
want to join efforts to help families prevent child abuse and neglect,
and that 77% felt it was their professional responsibility not just
to report it, but to do whatever they can to prevent child abuse
and neglect.
In
addition,
- 85%
believe that giving families support on promoting the social and
emotional development and early learning of their children will
help to prevent child abuse and neglect
- 83%
believe that a key step for NAEYC to take in the prevention of
harm to children is to provide specific training around recognizing
children at risk of abuse because of challenging behaviors or
family problems.
