Public Supports Investment in Early Care and Education

A recent national poll shows that the public understands that child brain development begins early in life. Nearly half of the respondents said that they strongly favor using public money to fund high-quality, voluntary preschool programs for three- and four-year-olds — as long as this investment did not detract from K-12 education.

Associated Early Care and Education would like to welcome Erika Argersinger to our staff as the new Research and Policy Associate.

Erika brings with her a wealth of knowledge about early childhood education policy and practice. Erika has worked on advocacy campaigns and has worked in early childhood classrooms.

In 2001, she completed a master's degree in Child Development and Urban and Environmental Policy at Tufts University. Most recently, she worked at the Child Care Careers Institute in Jamaica Plain.
